According to the Seattle Times the Microsoft Zune has already slipped from 2nd place to 5th place in portable music player sales.

Some people attribute the slump to thanksgiving price cuts by Sandisk and others. I think the sales are due to a less obvious reason.I believe, subconsciously, consumers are offended by the Zune. Not simply because its a product of Microsoft. But because the mind is subliminally picking up on the fact that their logo, when flipped horizontally, looks much like the word anus:

Sure, its a stretch, but its well-known that the brain does respond to subliminal stimuli. I just can't wait until I read a headline like "Apple's iPod Licks Zune".
